This is an international film festival in the Philippines that is having the first machinima segment this year!

Greetings from the Philippines!

I'm actually one of the entrants in the festival. You know... the other guy who tried to create machinima with Garry's Mod.

But I'm here now because I was floored by Shelf Life! It was technically amazing (wish I knew how to use Face Poser), well paced, and sharply written (as well as acted). It immediately stands out among all the other entrants. By the end of the second part, I was like, "where have these guys been all this time?"

You're probably familiar with the EVE Online/Source machinima called "Clear Skies." That and Shelf Life are great examples showcasing what machinima can truly become today, and have inspired me to try and learn more about the technical aspects of machinima making with Source. I'm just worried that they may be too technical for someone like me to grasp.

Well, I'm just here to wish you guys the best of luck! I'm sure you'll be receiving a lot of support from the community here, and the judges will know quality when they see it.

I'll be eagerly waiting for Shelf Life Chapter Two!

Hi Redwense! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by our forum and thanks for the compliment!

We just yesterday found out the films had been put up for the Cinemanila festival so we posted the announcement but have not had time to check out any films yet. We simply checked that ours was on there and then posted but we are definitely going back to watch the films.

Our video on the Cinemanila site has actually been rendered down into a pretty bad quality. I recommend watching it on our YouTube channel so you can see what it is actually supposed to look like!

Yeah we definitely know Clear Skies, it is great. The Source Engine is amazing for creating machinima! Some of the stuff with Faceposer and Hammer can get pretty tedious for sure, hehe.

Well, maybe sometime this weekend I will have the chance to sit down and watch some videos! Congrats and good luck to you as well in the festival.
